Kouri Richins “Walk The Dog” Letter Breakdown

Kouri Richins “Walk The Dog” Letter Breakdown

I break down the Kouri Richins infamous “Walk The Dog” letter found in her jail cell. She claims this letter was part of a fictional book she was working on. The prosecution disagreed with that sentiment and requested sanctions be placed on Richins.
On Monday, Kouri Richins wrote a statement claiming her eagerness to proceed with the trial and prove her innocence. Eric Richins's estate put out a statement saying that they are confident in the judicial system and there will be enough evidence for a jury to convict her.
We still have a long way to go before a trial can be set. First, Kouri needs a new defense attorney, then the preliminary hearing needs to happen.

The judge made a ruling in the Scandoval lawsuit. Tom Sandoval’s demurrer was denied in the first cause of action as it pertains to eavesdropping and the third cause of action as it relates to the invasion of privacy.
A demurrer was granted with the 4th cause of action for the IIED and Rachel Leviss has 20 days to amend the complaint. A decision hasn’t been made with Ariana Madix’s Anti-SLAPP.
I also break down why the judge denied Alec Baldwin’s dismissal. A trial date has yet to be set.
Lastly, I recap week 4 of the Karen Read trial.

Alec Baldwin had a hearing on May 17th, 2024 that lasted over 2 hours! The defense argues that the grand jury indictment should be dismissed due to prosecutorial bad faith and that there were structural errors in the grand jury indictment. The judge asked pointed questions to the prosecution about their conduct.
The prosecution had leaked the date of the indictment to the New York Times, cut off witnesses during their testimony, and didn't reach out to other possible witnesses' attorneys to let them know they might be needed for that hearing. The judge stated that they would make a written ruling this week and with the amount of questions the judge had, it is possible that the dismissal could get granted.
Kouri Richins’ defense attorneys filed a motion to disqualify the prosecution and to designate the "Walk The Dog" letter as attorney-client privilege. Subsequently, the firm withdrew from her case. This will delay Richins's preliminary hearing that is currently set for June.

CNN published a video of Diddy assaulting Cassie at a hotel in 2016. The Los Angeles Police Department said it was aware of the video but was unable to charge Diddy due to the statute of limitations. Cassie's lawyers put out a statement about the video, “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”
Diddy posted a video apology on Instagram stating that he is disgusted with his conduct in the video while he still keeps up the post stating that didn't do things alleged in the lawsuits against him.
I also summarize week 3 of the Karen Read trial as more civilian witnesses take the stand. We finished Friday with the direct examination of Jen McCabe and expect that cross-examination will be spicy on Tuesday.

I broke down the Bryan Kohberger Hearing on May 2nd, 2024. The defense and prosecution agree that the hearing scheduled for May 16th, 2024 should be closed but do not agree that the hearing on May 14th, 2024 should also be closed.
Ann Taylor argues the hearing on May 14th should not be closed because it is in the interest of Kohberger's 6th Amendment Right to have a public trial. The prosecution argues that the proceedings before the public trial are not obligated to be in the public and that they need to balance the interests, privacy, and sensitive information as a right to a fair trial.
Judge John Judge ultimately sides with the prosecution to have a closed hearing on May 14th, 2024 signing a subpoena for the FBI to produce evidence for cell towers, amongst other things, that should have been provided over 6 months ago.

Quick Bits: Karen Read Trial Week 2 & Scandoval Lawsuit Update! Tom Blames Rachel. Ariana wants out.

There are new developments in the Scandoval lawsuit, as Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix respond. Tom states that Rachel Leviss sent the video to him, and Ariana states that she never shared the video with anyone but Rachel.
Rachel's lawyers said they would move forward with the lawsuit and that Tom and Ariana lied, and they have proof.
A lot happened in week 2 of the Karen Read trial. The story starts to unfold as the civilian witness takes the stand. We finished Friday with the direct examination of the homeowner, Brian Albert, and expect that cross-examination will be very spicy.

Maureen THIERY ,

Very informative and funny

I discovered Emily D. Baker on Youtube and loved her commentary so of course I jumped here to listen to the podcast. Now people think I am crazy because I burst out laughing while listening with my headphones on my way to work. She has a way of making you learn new things without realizing it. A must listen in my opinion.
Side note I don’t live in the United States so the most of the laws really don’t apply to me but I live listening anyway.
