Dr Antri Theodorou is Senior Scientist at Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute with a PHD in the sector of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Sciences, at the University of Manchester. She is also an ambassador of MEDBAN - Mediterranean Blue Acceleration Network project. Antri shares her thoughts and experience on the Blue Economy in the Mediterranean.

Tassos Kyriakides is Assistant Professor at the School of Public Health at Yale University. Last December 2023, Yale held the 5th International Symposium on Olive Oil and Health in Portugal. We speak with Tassos about the history of the school, one of the oldest of this kind and the future of the Mediterranean diet.

For the second episode our special edition podcast ahead of the #EURegionsWeek in Brussels from 9 to 12 October, we spoke to Jorge Barbeiro, who is Head of Mobility Planning and Management at the Porto Metropolitan Area.

Jorge talks about the main transport initiatives for the Porto Metropolitan Area, which acts as a transport authority in the region and how to increase the ridership of passengers, the main objective of the current strategy.

In our special edition podcast episode dedicated to #EURegionsWeek taking place on 9 to 12 October 2023 in Brussels, we had an insightful conversation with Eduardo Vitor Rodrigues, President of Porto Metropolitan Area, a Portuguese region participating at the event for the first time.


During our discussion, President Rodrigues emphasized the importance of continuously addressing poverty and unemployment. However, he also stressed the need to broaden our perspective on social cohesion, saying "it extends beyond these challenges and encompasses our approach to cultural policies and tourism. We must think about how to not only draw people to the city centers of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia but also encourage them to explore and experience the entire Metropolitan area".

In this episode we speak to José Carlos Caldeira, who is a member of the Board of Directors of INESC TEC. Until recently, he was the president of ANI, the National Innovation Agency of Portugal. He was also director of INESC Porto, one of the main ICT research and technology transfer institutes in Portugal.



We ask José about the main working areas and strategies of INESC TEC and how it successfully bridges innovation between academia and business.
