    The guy who battles through and refuses to give up

    Scotty is a young guy from New Zealand who has been on a bit of a roller coaster ride over the last 7-8 years. Back in 2013 he was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, where he had to start taking medication and change his diet to get the symptoms under control. 

    This took a toll on him mentally, and in 2016 he was then diagnosed with anxiety / depression. After seeking help, life started to improve and was cruising along nicely until March 2019. In March 2019, Scotty discovered a lump on his left testicle, and the battle with testicular cancer then began.

    Matt Zerker worked as a Portfolio Manager at a quantitative hedge fund and even achieved the coveted CFA designation. Despite the early career success, Matt was deeply unhappy. 

    On top of it, the sudden death of one of his best friends sent Matt spiraling into a suicidal depression.

    After trying everything from therapy to medication, and even some experimental treatments such as Ayahuasca and other Entheogenic plants, Matt discovered a men's peer support group in his hometown and that's when his inner world began to shift. 

    After finally overcoming depression and anxiety, Matt quit his job suddenly and started working on how to help other support men to overcome depression, lonelys and achieve happiness.

    Working more hours isn't the only way to think when you want to boost your annual income $.

    For me the goal has been to achieve my desired income & then work out how I can maintain that while working less hours.

    Here are a few questions to think about.

     How much would you like to earn per year? (and why?)
    How many HOURS/week would you like to work & weeks/ year?
    4 weeks holiday
    48 weeks work
    38 hrs per week

    What is your required HOURLY rate?
    (Your Annual $ goal / weeks worked = Weekly income --- Divided by hours you would like to work = Required hourly rate.)
    $100,000 / 48 weeks = $2083 per week / 38hours per week = $54 per hour).
    What is your current HOURLY rate? and the gap between that and your required?
    Current = $30
    Goal = $54
    Difference = +$24
    How can you fill the $$ Gap?
    Do you want to start a side hustle?
    Do you want to find a higher paying job?

    6. Who do you know who is currently earning that or has the skill?

    7. What skills do you need to learn in order to make that a reality?
