Not So Macho Fans Danny and Luke

On this week’s Not So Macho Fans, the Cheeseburger Boys take a trip down south to the Florida Keys with special guest Nic Hester-- @bortgumphries -- for 1975’s oddball-drama, 92 in the Shade. The three lads linger with the hang-out movie, searching for its tough guy mysteries like Jimmy’s lost shaker of salt. Listen in as the Fans’ make the best out of the film’s every virtue and vice – as if it was some sort of cheeseburger in paradise.

It's got everything-- Fred William's overflowing charisma, stunt-work from Hal Needham, music from The Impressions, and white supremacists getting torn the f*ck up.

This week the glass-jawed gents talk Akira Kurosawa's High and Low (1963). The Fans get into getting drunk during the 2009 World Series, one-man shows, and Kurosawa-firsts. Listen in as Luke dives into a bottle of Suntory whisky and pretend to know anything about it. Pop those ear-gates ajar and hear Danny interview friend of the pod, Slyvester Cologne. Do the Fans know anything about shoes?

This week, the doughy-hearted duo, Luke and Danny, talk about 1973's Walking Tall. "When a man loves a woman," Michael Bolton sings on his 1991 hit, "can't keep his mind on nothin' else." Too true, Michael. And when a man loves a large piece of lumber-- and his name happens to be Buford Pusser-- he can't keep his mind on nothin' else but homegrown justice. Luke and Danny talk this week about wrestling names, Danny's love of Las Vegas, and Luke's future career as a baseball mascot. Listen in!
