In our 6th episode, to mark Volunteers Week (1-7th June), we talk about the diverse range of volunteering opportunities NYCC has to offer, the impact of volunteering on both the wider community and volunteer, and the value diversity and inclusion has to volunteering and the different types of opportunities available to fit people from all walks of life.

In our second episode, Chris Jones-King, Assistant Director Care and Support in Health and Adult Services, is in conversation with Kate Owen, a young LGBT+ person from North Yorkshire and a finalist in the Libraries LGBT+ writing competition. They reflect on their experiences growing up as LGBT+ and talk about a range of topics from Section 28, the legalisation of gay marriage, representation in books, TV and film, and what we can all do to continue to push for full equality and fair treatment for LGBT+ people. -
