Today, Christians all around the world are celebrating the Pentecost.

What is the Pentecost? Its direct translation means 50th, but for Christians, it is a celebration on the 50th day after the resurrection of Jesus. It is also a celebration of the first fruits of wheat harvest; thus it is also called the feast of harvest. Additionally, it is called the feast of weeks as this feast starts seven weeks after the second day of Passover.

Why should we celebrate the Pentecost? What is the true purpose of the Pentecost?
The Pentecost reminds us of harvest time and the 120 believers who were the first fruits of what will be a great harvest for the kingdom of God. The Pentecost is God’s way of empowering and equipping His church with the power of the Holy Spirit so that His Name may be glorified among the nations.
