SPECIAL: Mark Ellman Special and Commentary

Chef and restaurateur Mark Ellman of Maui sadly passed away, the first rock star chef in Lahaina, Maui. He and wife Judy set up iconic restaurants and recently sold off their remaining 3, as Mark was about to live a retired life full of traveling and being with family and close friends. He died at 67, and not able to experience the life of retirement. Mark inspired many future food service professionals, and was a very disarming person. He was a spiritual brother to myself, and a friend and mentor to many. I will miss Mark for his humbleness as a human being, and a friend that checked up on me when I actually needed it most. After losing my mother in 09, my brother Chef Harold two years later. Mark was one of the first to offer his condolences when Chef Harold died. Mark was a very unique and special person. As he rests in peace, it is our job now, those whose lives he transformed, to carry on with the "Aloha" he preached.

RS BE AT PEACE S3 EP40

The final episode of season 3, talking about happiness, and to eliminate all the negatives in our minds to be at peace. Happiness is an attitude, in the mind, we hold on to thoughts of negativity when we should rid of the negativity, however mentally we can always keep our unhappiness in us and that leads to a pitiful life. When we are not in the moment, in the NOW, we relive our anger at others, or our sadness in mourning from the past, be it recent or years prior. We relive, replay, review horrible experiences for what? Meditation can rid of all the unworthy thoughts, prayers of thanksgiving can rid of those thoughts as well. The teachings of "Being in the moment." is vital towards a peaceful existence. Even simple prayers to give all of your unwanted thoughts, sins, or otherwise to God, and you shall be restored, ancient times had the answers we can all learn. Wisdom brings us peace through understanding that all things are merely of a temporary nature, such as our lives, and death makes life real. The understanding of death should wake anyone up to the fact that hanging on to anything negative can destroy a life, your life, to be a happy person. No one wants the company of a wretch, a saddened human being that brings no joy to a gathering. No one wants a repeater of gloom, anger, or any ambiguous mood to any gathering. You can say that unhappiness for some is a mental hiccup, especially when one repeats the same negative experience when it has been years ago of its happening. The old saying, "Life's too short to be hanging on to unhappiness," is true. Let go of the things that you consider unhappiness because you can.

    S3 NO.38 SUNDAY SERMON February 12, 2023

Offering hope and faith, for those in distress, and to be thankful for what we have. Reading from the Book of Proverbs 12. Learning about wisdom, and applying wisdom to our lives. As a believer in Christ, I subscribe to treating people for who they are, and I refuse to be the judge and jury, but to be at peace with people. In today's world we are missing the humanistic elements that is vital for communities to thrive. As for families, we need hope, faith, love and peace more so than ever before.

RS BE AT PEACE S3 EP37

This episode I talk about teen pregnancies with parents of four different teenage mothers. And the one common denominator is for each teen mom to work hard and finish school, and to learn to provide for their child on their own if need be. All four of the parents reacted in a polarizing manner once the facts were revealed to them, all four parents agreed to help care for their grandchild, with a stipulation that they weren't going to be a hundred percent care provider, and that will be the responsibilities of the mothers. The game plane for all four future moms were to be trained in real life situations with experience of their parents, however it was reiterated that the final decision makers were to be the future mothers.

With irresponsible teen mothers in the community, their children become untamed, irresponsible themselves, possibly entering a life of crime. The percentages of children without direction from a parent or guardian that become malefactors is elevated as experienced in many areas of drug use, and in low income regions of every state in America.
