What happens when a change consultant chooses authenticity over commerciality? Eugenio Moliní has been facilitating organisational change since 1989. Throughout that journey, he has had one priority. To stay true to himself. To not relinquish the most special parts of himself (that make him so good at what he does) in the honour of fitting into the mainstream.He has tried many times to build and institutionalise his practice, yet every time he had the same realisation: it always costs him his authenticity. 

In this episode of Sages of the 21st Century, host Stephanie Bartscht sits down with her long-time mentor Eugenio, a Gestalt practitioner originally from Spain and now based in Sweden, for a conversation that moves from systemic change to radical self-acceptance, risk-taking and getting involved as the only way to make real change.

Along the way, Eugenio shares that his biggest constraint has mainly been: how far the client/organisation is willing to go. Shedding light on the ultimate consultant dilemma of needing to predict the result before even beginning. ‘How can I know where we will be in 1 year based on a one-hour conversation?’ he says.

Eugenio is a boundary spanner. He naturally lives at the boundary of the new and the old and believes the present is far more important than the past or the future. We explore the Gestalt principle of phenomenology, diving into why you cannot change what you don't first accept.
