Starjammers aka João Vasco Coelho, the record store poet, a true crate digger and purist at heart comes loaded with a box full of wax just for us.
When recording vinyl, we remember the warmth it brings, those tiny sonic imperfections, the slight bending pitch from a lightly warped record, the muffled static hum or that grit that punches through the low end.

2lani The Warrior heads into this months mix in mighty form, one could say he is definitely one of South Africa’s electronic dance music scenes OG.

As the year slowly begins to wind to an end, we finish up 2021 with a provocative slugger of a mix provided by Random Fact.

An avid music enthusiast, producer and collector coming from deep house mecca Johannesburg, South Africa. Known for his under pitch dubby deep house signature, he draws musical influence from literally across the entire sonic spectrum. He’s no new comer to the scene, with a newly created moniker as Random Fact he’s aiming to target more than just one market with his productions.

With a keen ear and influences from the electronic dance music’s leading producers, both locally and internationally he put forth a mix which sways and oscillates through very deep roots, perfect for festive season listening either by the fireplace or with your toes in the sand.

Yiorgos.
George / Giorgos / Yorgos (Greek: Γιώργος)

This month we welcome a Greco-African who can be called by many variants of his name, as diverse as his versatility in the booth.
Born and bred in Johannesburg, South Africa, this mix came out from the other side of the world, New Zealand in fact where he’s currently based.

Having nurtured his taste for electronic music at a young age, having the usual suspects as inspiration (Knuckles, Cox, Morillo, Tenaglia…) he was soon putting a pair of mismatched turntables to use. In his early 20’s he began to dive into the deeper minimalistic approach of the genre, driven by bass line heavy house and underground grooves.

He's featured on radio shows and podcasts from the US, across Europe down to Asia, we're so glad to have him on our podcast. Not being genre bound, he prefers the music to dictate it’s soul. His mix for simsphonica slides through deep grooves trickled with melody driven by low end frequencies that will keep your foot tapping throughout.
