Stephen Fry's 7 Deady Sins - I will take each one of the Seven Sins in turn, lay them out on the surgical table and poke, prod, pry and provoke in an attempt to try to anatomise and understand them; I hope and believe it will be, if nothing else, delicious fun and something of a change from the usual run of podcastery.

S2 EP1 - Introduction
An exploration of the human heart.
In this new series I will take each one of the Seven Sins in turn, lay them out on the surgical table and poke, prod, pry and provoke in an attempt to try to anatomise and understand them; I hope and believe it will be, if nothing else, delicious fun and something of a change from the usual run of podcastery.

S2 EP2 - Pride
For two thousand years Pride has stood at the very top of the list of the Seven Deadly Sins. Perhaps no longer. Perhaps a new sin is rising to replace it.

S2 EP3 - Greed
Avarice, or Greed as we would call it today, now there’s a proper vice, one we can all surely identify with, claim and confess to. One of the defining quotations of the materialistic 1980s came from the fictional character Gordon Gecko, the junk bond pirate played by Michael Douglas in the Oliver Stone film, Wall Street. “Greed,” he tells a dinner of fellow financiers, “for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works”. It’s easy to dismiss this. Your instinct might be to shake your head sadly, or scoff angrily. Yet...

S2 EP6 - Gluttony
Loosen your waistbands and gorge with me until you gasp. It’s Gluttony - the devil that drives us to all kinds of addiction and excess *burp*.

Mentoring via Podcast
History, history of philosophy, soul searching, hard self questioning.
Stephen mentors his listeners by considering history, philosophy, and language. I wish he were my personal friend and mentor.
I can’t wait to hear the follow-up.
As usual totally thrilled
As a French, I’m still thrilled to hear Stephen speaking so well about things that has been in everybody’s mind at least once in their life. He is doing this with so much intelligence and delicacy. I am really delighted that I found this podcast just today and already listen the half of it.
Thank you for all!
Robin.
Pompous
There's some very interesting information here, but I'm disappointed by a kind of verbal flatulence. A garrulous old man who thinks very highly (and gives way too much time) to his own view on why we should keep saying "13th century" instead of "the 1200s", and relishes saying "the history of man" when sorry, the other half of humanity was there too. After 3 episodes I am tired of him.
