Amir is the founder and Executive Director of IraQueer, Iraq’s first and only LGBTQ+ human rights organisation. Founded in 2015, IraQueer quickly evolved into an LGBTQ+ organisation that focused on three key areas: education, advocacy, and direct services. 
As IraQueer grew, Amir’s profile was rising not just in Iraq itself but on the international stage, and with that came its own set of learnings and challenges...
