Hey, homegirls! We've got a few questions for you:
What is your self esteem looking like these days? Do you practice self-love often? Do you accept yourself, flaws and all?
As we wrap up our Read Me, Sis! series, we're thinking about all of that. In this episode, we reflect on how we've been showing up for ourselves recently. We think about how we can improve upon our self love practices. We discuss the stability of our self esteems and how we've gotten to these points of self acceptance. Listen in, reflect and let us know what your personal journey of self love, self esteem and self acceptance has looked like so far!

Last week, we talked about emotionally detaching from whatever is draining you. Our convo will motivate you to reclaim your energy: https://stream.redcircle.com/episodes/7c8ed508-ffe5-4f1d-9c87-e3e044a248f0/stream.mp3

218 | Read Me, Sis! (Part Three): Intentional Detachment

218 | Read Me, Sis! (Part Three): Intentional Detachment

It's time to let go, y'all.
Emotionally detaching from a person or a situation can be easier said than done. Sometimes it’s hard to leave because you’re so entwined with that person (or situation), and sometimes it’s hard to leave because the other person doesn’t want to let you go.
If you find yourself obsessing over a certain outcome or ignoring boundaries you have set in the past, it's time to take a step back and evaluate your role in the relationship. Listen in as we discuss the art of emotional detachment and the importance of letting things go.
Last week, we broke down the meaning of a martyr complex. If you feel like you're always trying to save somebody, this episode is for you: https://stream.redcircle.com/episodes/f2023c55-ae3a-49b8-aee4-da2f1c79506c/stream.mp3

217 | Read Me, Sis! (Part Two): The Martyr Complex

217 | Read Me, Sis! (Part Two): The Martyr Complex

Martyrs are known for sacrifice. Many of us sacrifice our time, energy and mental health by putting other people's needs above our own. Maybe you're putting more effort into the relationship than your partner is. Maybe you told your boss you can handle an extra project when your plate is already full. Perhaps you don't want to say no and cause disappointment, or you're hyper-independent and want to appear capable of handling all tasks thrown your way... If you feel like your needs are always coming in second place, you may have a martyr complex.
Say it with us: "When I pour into myself, I can shine my light onto others.”

Last week, we began reading y'all by talking about the I'll Feel Better When cycle. You'll feel better after tapping in to this episode: https://stream.redcircle.com/episodes/45171684-73eb-47b4-bfe9-ab7c41019ac5/stream.mp3

216 | Read Me, Sis! (Part One): I'll Feel Better When...

216 | Read Me, Sis! (Part One): I'll Feel Better When...

Welcome to our newest series: Read Me, Sis! Call us librarians, because we're about to read y'all.
Have you ever told yourself that you'll feel better after accomplishing something in the future? Maybe you want to find a new job. Maybe you're looking for a relationship. Maybe you want a new car.
    What about now, though?
We're so focused on the future that it is difficult to be present. Many of us are stuck in the 'I'll feel better when," cycle, and that can be tough to break! When focused on what's going to happen in the future, it is impossible to focus on what is currently happening. We have to accept that we don't know exactly how we'll feel after accomplishing a goal, but we CAN accept the journey to that goal. By practicing gratitude, appreciating what we have now and being thankful for the journey we're on towards the unknown future, we can put an end to the cycle. Listen in as we talk about our experiences with the "I'll feel better when," cycle and ways we can practice being present. The time is NOW, not later!

Last week, we discussed the cultivation of divine feminine energy. Use it to your advantage, homegirls! https://stream.redcircle.com/episodes/7dce107e-f62b-41c5-aac1-fff59a7993cc/stream.mp3

214 | Draft Season (Part Four): So you're dating... Now what?

Let's be real, y'all... at the beginning of any relationship, everything seems so sweet. In this week's episode, we talk about experiencing limerence in relationships. Limerence is a state of infatuation with another person that involves an all-consuming passion and intrusive thoughts. When you're experiencing limerence, you can say goodbye to sound judgements. It's rose colored glasses only! Let's sift through the beginning stages of new relationships together so we don't get caught up in that mess. Tap in and get candid with us!
Last week, we explored dating patterns with Francesca Hogi of Dear Franny Podcast. Are you a looper, an avoider, a surfer or a sailor? Listen and find out: https://stream.redcircle.com/episodes/16880986-87ff-40ae-83cc-d758de5514d1/stream.mp3
