Repetition of carefully chosen facts helps audio listeners to follow story threads. The presenters are not afraid to offer their own perspectives and conclusions, a privilege they have earned through their careful research.
The posts have developed a formula of presentation that is positively addictive. Be prepared to be hooked into binge listening.
I began listening two months ago, intending to follow a few carefully chosen shows, but I soon went back to Episode 1 and started from the beginning.
A tour de force, indeed!
La Guerre de Sécession, de A à Z.
Tracy et Rich réalisent un travail de titan pour raconter, expliquer la Guerre Civile ou "Guerre de Sécession" et ses causes profondes.
En effet, ce podcast chronologique ne commence pas sa narration aux premiers jours du conflit, en 1861, mais au début du XIXème siècle, la confrontation militaire ne débutant qu'au 30ème épisode.
Le couple formé par les deux narrateurs (mari et femme) entre dans le détail, et a choisi de rendre ce récit vivant par sa complicité et son humour. Ils n'hésitent pas à exprimer, mais de manière toujours maîtrisée, leurs points de vue sur tel personnage ou tel événement.
Excellent podcast. Pour les passionnés, ou ceux qui veulent en savoir (beaucoup) plus sur ce chapitre fondateur de l'histoire américaine. Le découpage des épisodes permet aussi de s'informer sur une bataille ou un sujet en particulier. Bon niveau d'Anglais requis.
