    When things in life do not work, they become our primary focus. My invitation to you in this episode is to change your focus.
    What about looking at the things that work so that you elevate your energy to that of love?
    Hi, I'm Pascale Gibon. A warm welcome to episode 267 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. Thank you for tuning in.
    I believe there is always an opportunity for growth despite how painful events in our lives can be at times. The opportunity I talk about is the lesson you have learnt as a result of your growth process.
    Let us look at a particular experience you may have gone through, like a painful relationship. You were deeply in love and split up with your partner. Since then, you have moved on and created a new and beautiful relationship with someone else.
    I would like you to answer this question honestly:
    Would you exchange this new romantic experience for the old one?  If your answer is no, you have moved on and created a new life for yourself.
    Your moment of gratitude lies in being grateful for the opportunity for growth that presented itself after you split up. This process is what I call to live with heart; you rekindle the joy in your heart.
    You went through a period of suffering first to create a new and harmonious relationship next: such as mourning the partner you ‘lost’, remembering the happy moments, feeling loved or rejected etc.
    However, would you agree that the opportunity for growth was to learn how to be a better partner in your romantic life? I think the mistake other people make is they forget to be grateful for the lessons learnt after going through a challenging time and follow their growth in awareness.
    We all have a story we need to heal to grow in love or spiritually. For example, my story is about my parents getting divorced when I was three and growing up without my dad being around. By the way, I met my dad for the first time in my 30s, and I am most grateful for the whole experience called life.
    What is your story? As you know, everything in life serves a purpose for growth. You are triumphant when you decide to grow, and you choose to create a new story from your original one and come out of your comfort zone.
    Besides, you experience the law of compensation in action. According to the law of compensation, you need to let go of something of a lower nature to experience something of a higher nature.
    I like sharing John’s story because it is the typical example of an individual who chose to have a better life and not sink into deep despair. You can find John's story in my book YES! TO Love.
    Here it goes:
    “There were two brothers living with their single mother in a poor neighbourhood. Their dad left home when they were in their early teens. The two brothers reacted differently to their circumstances: one became very bitter and ended up in prison, and the other became better and is now a motivational speaker. The latter chose not to become a victim of his circumstances and to create, against all odds, a better life for himself and his family. His determination, persistence and self-belief were so strong that he made it. The former, simply gave up due to a lack of self-belief and awareness that your circumstances do not dictate your future.”
    In addition, the law of compensation is in action in the case of redundancy. When you are made redundant at work, you go through moments of rejection, not being good enough, uncertainty etc, at first.  However, when you use redundancy as an opportunity for growth, you end up with a better job than the previous one.
    Everything in life serves a purpose. For this reason, we need to be grateful every single day.
    Saying thank you reconnects you to the Source of Life, God or a Higher Power.
    Gratitude opens your heart and helps you manifest even more goodness.

    Hi, I’m Pascale Gibon. Welcome to episode 266 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. Thank you for tuning in.
    Since it is my birthday today, the 28th of November, I’d like to talk about my favourite topic: Love.
    But first, please allow me to thank you for tuning in to the Everyday Life Balance Show every week.
    A member of my community, called Sue, emailed me the following:
    “I have been meaning to respond to you countless times and your lovely e-card has prompted me.
    Just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed reading all your emails and their heartfelt messages.
    I lost my mother this year which rocked my foundations, but your kind words and positivity have given me much-needed strength.”
    This is the reason why I do what I do as a healer and personal development coach.
    Many people, I believe, are yet to awaken to the full power of love and say Yes! To Love.
    If you feel lost in a sea of suffering, you need to lean on the power of love to live a happier and more fulfilling life.
    In our fast-paced modern world happiness seems to be underrated because other people choose fear over love.
    Do you know that I wrote the book "Yes! To love - The Ultimate Guide to Personal Transformation for Everyday Life Balance" because I read back in 2016 an alarming article on the devastating effect of stress at work on young workers just starting in the City of London. I was petrified when I read that because those young workers experienced burnout, they even contemplated suicide.
    I believe that when we trust love which is our true divine nature, when we lean on love more, whether our situation is dire or not, and when we expand our love and become more loving, we can create miracles in our lives and live our best life.
    Let me share with you now three keys to fuelling your love and living with heart so that you can create miracles in your life and live your best life from the inside out.
    Activating positive and lasting change in your life starts from the inside out. As a result, when you do the work, you can transform your well-being and quality of life.
    I co-created the concept of living with heart. This concept entails unleashing love, not fear, as your life’s driving force.
    Are you ready?
    Here are the three keys to fuelling your love and living with heart so that you can create miracles in your life:
    Key #1: Trust
    To trust, you need to believe that you are a soul and that your true nature is love. Have you noticed all the goodness you create when you are kind and loving?
    Last Friday was Thanksgiving day in America. Isn’t Thanksgiving an expression of gratitude for all the love we receive? We deserve this time to acknowledge our friends, loved ones, family members, and higher power.
    On the other hand, when you are angry, jealous or resentful, you distance yourself from love, your true nature.
    Key #2: Lean on Love more
    This idea means surrendering your entire being to your source of life in unity. You can reach this state through meditation.
    You lean on love more when you stop fearing and worrying most of the time. Of course, this takes practice.
    Although you may learn to use fear positively, you can observe your own life to make a difference.
    Is your thinking directed towards lack or abundance? You have a choice. Where do you want your energy to expand? Towards negativity or positivity? Scientific research shows that human beings lean twice more towards what they don’t want than what they want. Therefore you need to be more aware of what you want to attract in your life.
    What is it that you want to attract: what you don’t want or what you want? Norman Vincent Peal, the acclaimed author of “The Power of Positive Thinking” explained the way to happiness as follows:

    Our topic in this episode is time management.
    I am sure you will agree that time is precious. Here are some of the affirmations we use related to time itself:
    "Time flies" "Time is short" "We can’t get time back!" "There is not enough time in the day." "Where has the time gone?" "I wasted so much time" "That was a waste of time" "Let’s spend valuable time together" "I value my time" Do you tell yourself sometimes: "Oh, that was a waste of my time!" How did you feel? Disappointed, and anxious because you know that time is precious.
    On reflection, all of the affirmations I have just shared about time create a strong inner feeling that we need to give much consideration to how we spend our time.
    How you spend your precious time is key to a qualitative and successful life.
    A qualitative life concerning time is one where you feel that you spend your time well and enjoy memorable, productive and fun moments.
    I am an advocate of living purposefully. When you live a more meaningful life, you become mindful and use your time efficiently.
    In addition, living with purpose includes alignment with your highest ideals, what you value the most and what brings you the greatest joy.
    I believe that time is well spent when you align with your highest ideals. It requires some soul searching and the awareness of your highest values.
    Let me give you a couple of examples of misalignment:
    If you value spending time with your family, however, 90% of your time is spent working, there is a misalignment, and you might feel discontent and resentful.
    The second example is: if you value feeling energised and fit and do not seem to make time to exercise, you are out of integrity and feel demotivated, deflated and tired. The reason is that when you feel energised, you have a stronger desire to get things done.
    Do you feel misaligned with your highest ideals?
    Do you feel overwhelmed and stressed out because there is not enough time in the day or week to meet your personal needs? If so, I would say that making new and supportive choices matters.
    Here is the process that will help you:
    There are three controllable ways to create change in your life and thus refocus on your activity management:
    Stop doing what doesn’t work Keep doing what works Try something new How can you apply this process to your life?
    Remember that our objective is to align the way you spend your time with what matters to you the most.
    Should the lack of time become a constraint in your life, what do you need to do to be in integrity with your highest ideals? In other words, what do you need to:
    Stop doing Keep doing Introduce This process will help you identify what you need to do less of, more of or/and introduce so that you spend your time in a way that feels valuable and purposeful.

    Hi, I’m Pascale Gibon. Welcome to episode 264 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. Thank you for tuning in.
    I want to give you a head up and some encouragement since you are at the level where you awaken to higher possibilities for your life: bigger dreams, more happiness, peace, harmony and fulfilment.
    Your awakening may be the result of a new transition or life cycle. Or a deeper understanding of who you are in truth.
    Your awakening may also be the new awareness that you are in control of your life, a creator and a carrier of endless possibilities.
    However, with your new awareness, you may wonder what to do and where to go next.
    In his book “Think and Grow Rich,” Napoleon Hill said: "whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve." I love to reflect on this quote when I start to doubt myself.
    Napoleon Hill’s invitation to explore the power of the mind leads us to understand that goal achievement results from two ideas: visualising what you want and believing you can achieve it.
    In other words, you will be a successful goal achiever when you conceive, in your mind, what you want and believe it can come true.
    This idea is the starting point of success in goal achievement. Let me share now how you can put it into practice.
    You currently have an idea or goal in mind. You think about it repeatedly, and it is constantly on your mind. As a result of that thought, you start creating a vision or visualising what you want.
    Let us say that your goal is to do what you love in your career. As you repeatedly visualise your new purpose-driven work life, you activate your creative power, and your dream seems palpable. Your objective becomes increasingly clear because it is as if it is already happening through your imagination and creative process.
    Are you at that stage? You have a vision of something you want to create, and the more you think about it, the more vivid your vision becomes. However, you feel stuck.
    Do you remember what Napoleon Hill said? He said that vision is not enough to achieve your goal because belief is the second success principle you need.
    I think this is where other people get stuck on their goal-achievement journey. They fail to strengthen their belief by creating success habits and cultivating a strong mindset for success.
    You need to have faith and believe that you can achieve your goal because doubt creeps in.
    How do you increase your belief that you can make your dream come true?
    To answer this question, I want to share five steps you can take to increase your belief. You will get closer to achieving your goals when you adopt these five steps as your success habits:
    Step #1: Be fully engaged
    I believe that when you fully engage in what you want to create, you can achieve it more easily. Doing things half-heartedly is tedious. Besides, if you are not fully engaged in your goal, perhaps it is not big enough. Your complete engagement requires focus.
    Therefore you will need to disengage from distractions, such as procrastination. Giving in to distractions indicates that you need to feel more dedicated to your goal. The countermeasure that I find works is spending some time on your success plan weekly without fail. Another way of describing full engagement is total commitment.
    Total commitment is your pledge to go the extra mile to achieve your goal.
    You can pledge now to be fully engaged in achieving your goal.
    Step #2: Be clear
    I cannot stress this point enough. Robin Sharma said: "Clarity precedes success." This statement rings true to me. What do you think? Be clear about what you want if you feel confused right now. Remaining in a state of confusion will discourage you and stop you from moving forward and achieving your goal.

    I cannot hear you! Have you ever had conversations like that?
    Hi, I’m Pascale Gibon and welcome to episode 263 of the Everyday Life Balance Show.
    You might be wondering what the title of this episode is all about. The title comes from an observation I made recently, which is worth talking about because it affects how we communicate with others.
    I don’t know about you, but have you noticed how some conversations between colleagues, loved ones, and friends end up going round and round in a circle? He says this. She says that. However, they do not seem to meet halfway.
    I was the observer of such a conversation recently between two people. I noticed, as an observer, that the individuals who were putting their point across were saying the same thing.
    It appears, though, that they could not hear it for the following reason:
    They could not come to an agreement or hear what the other person was saying because they were using different words or expressing what they wanted to say in two different ways. I hope you follow so far. It was funny to watch. Since I was following their communication, I had to tell them that they were saying the same thing but differently, and the outcome was the same.
    I draw the following conclusion from this experience. In general, people need to increase their listening abilities during their conversations with others, particularly when they struggle to reach an agreement.
    If I had not clarified the situation, these two people would still be arguing, saying the same thing but differently.
    Has it ever happened to you?
    Another conclusion is that communication breaks down when it is a one-way street. What do I mean? Have you had conversations when the other party tries hard to get their point across without giving much attention to what you want to say? They want to make their point clear first then they will open up to what you have to say. In other words, they will not listen to you until you get their point first.
    This type of conversation can go two ways: no one listens or no one wants to give way. As a result, the conversation turns into a misunderstanding instead of active listening and dialogue.
    I have found that the best solution is to listen attentively and actively to what the other person has to say before you put your point across.
    A lot of misunderstanding is due to a lack of active listening abilities, communication abilities, and the desire to be first understood before you understand. In his celebrated book "The Habits of Highly Effective People," Stephen Covey said: “Seek first to understand then to be understood.”
    Communication comes from the verb ‘communicare,’ which means to share. Therefore, should you be willing to improve your communication skills and thus your relationship with your partner, colleague or friend seek first to understand and then to be understood to transform, as a whole, your attitude and perception of the relationship.
