Why get lawyers involved if the VMFA doesn’t retaliate against employees?
VMFA Director Alex Nyerges claims that the museum administration will not retaliate against employees for speaking up after suspiciously firing 30 Gallery Associates, many of whom were demanding answers for safety and harassment in the museum. In the same meeting, he also claims the VMFA is getting legal advice regarding our anonymous autonomous protest group. They two things don’t align: why would you seek legal advice but say you won’t retaliate?
