The design process

create a new product, system, or service. Although the specific process
may vary depending on the designer, the project, and the context, there
are generally several key stages involved in most design processes. Here
are some common steps in the design process: Research, Analysis, Ideation, Prototyping,Testing, Refining, Implementation. Overall,
the design process is an iterative and collaborative process that
involves multiple stakeholders and requires constant refinement and
testing in order to arrive at a successful solution.
There are several types of design processes that are used in different industries and contexts. Here are some examples: Waterfall
design process, Agile design process, User-centered design process,
Design thinking process, Lean design process, Participatory design
process, Design Sprint .. and so on.
Overall, the type of
design process used will depend on the industry, the project, and the
goals of the design team. Each process has its own strengths and
weaknesses and may be more or less suitable for different contexts. So

UXTallks Season - 03 Workshop: Design Thinking + DEI = Performance Gold By Karen Zeigler
Topic ~ Workshop / Group Discussion - Design Thinking + DEI = Performance Gold
Date ~ 15th Nov 2022 - 7:30PM IST
About Speaker -
Karen Zeigler Design thinking Counsultant and Trainier, Helping Executives create innovation from the inside - maximize talent, remove obstacles, & create an innovation eco-system. Isn't it time your company joined the ranks of Design-led firms out performing S&P by 228%?
About Topic -
Today's leaders are facing so many challenges. Challenges that often seem to oppose one another. On one hand, executives have to serve the shareholders by providing a profitable investment through serving customers in the best and most profitable manner. On the other side of the equation are employees and their needs. Fail to run a profitable business, and everyone loses - shareholders, customers, and most definitely employees. And thus, it is the focus and priority. Often to the detriment of employees, as evidenced by #quietquitting and the #greatresignation to the detriment of employees.
Yet it does not have to be this way. When you understand what Zig Ziglar meant by "You can have everything you want if you just help enough people get what they want." Design thinking as a leadership practice teaches leaders to find the sweet spot where the needs of the organization and the needs of the employees intersect for a powerful explosion of unleashed performance. When employees feel their voices are heard (#diversity). When they feel they are treated fairly and with respect (#equity) and when they feel they belong and are able to share their unique talents (#inclusion) they thrive, organizations thrive and thus profits thrive.

Session Brief
When you look closely into the product development life cycle, you understand that at most companies they follow agile sprints. Which means they are iterating and learning from their previous sprint releases. Design is no less different. We also iterate a lot with our design explorations until we find a solution which work best for our users and the business. But its not just limited to that. We should also make sure that we work very closely with engineering to see if our designs are technically feasible to actually come out live within the product release timeline.
