In this episode, we invited the curator of the inaugural edition of the Hong Kong Film Festival (UK), Ching Wong, to share her thoughts in curating the festival. What makes her curate the festival? What are the recent films that debut on the stage of Hong Kong? What’s the relationship between these films and the recent changes in Hong Kong? Let’s hear the stories the curator says and what song she recommends.
第一屆香港電影節（英國）將於2022年3月19至3月27日在倫敦舉行，此次影展帶來16 部作品，包括5部紀錄片、6部劇情長片和5部短片，並於2022年3月30日至4月10日於英國城市曼徹斯特、布里斯托和愛丁堡進行放映。
透過香港遭逢劇變之年代的新一波香港電影，香港電影節（英國）重新述說「香港故事」，以保存及推廣香港的文化遺產，並反思發生在那土地上複雜、迷人又熬人的現實。
The inaugural HKFF (UK) will take place between 19th and 27th March 2022 in London, featuring 16 titles including 6 documentaries, 5 feature films, and 5 shorts. The screenings will also take place across Manchester, Bristol, and Edinburgh in the UK between 30th March and 6th April 2022.
Building on Hong Kong’s vivid and eclectic history, the Festival aims to introduce a new wave of Hong Kong cinema that has blossomed in an era of drastic transformation. It is time to tell Hong Kong’s story again, to preserve and promote Hong Kong's cultural heritage, and to reflect on the city's enchanting, complex, and challenging reality from a fresh perspective.
