    • Education

Featuring:

Marc Harder, UK Programme Manager, National Bereavement Care Pathway , SANDS Charity
Clare Worgan, Training and Learning Resources Manager, SANDS Charity

High quality care when a baby dies is essential for the wellbeing of families. With effective tools, knowledge and support midwives can be empowered to address their own emotions and provide the best possible care when the worst happens.

During this Maternity & Midwifery Hour - to mark Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Awareness month - our speakers will discuss the key principals of bereavement care.

Clare will focus on how best to support bereaved parents and families in clinical practice. She will share insights from bereaved parents and discuss themes such as sensitive communication, grief and support resources for midwives.

Marc will talk about the roll out of the National Bereavement Care Pathway (NBCP), a programme of improvement and include an update on recent successes. The 9 Standards of Bereavement Care will also be covered in Marc’s discussion along with details of how your trust can join the NBCP.
