210 - Season Finale (with Rachel Connor, Eley Williams & Harry Gallon)

“That was a good bit of radio where I mimed ‘chaos’.” It’s the season two finale, and to celebrate I met up with award winning authors Eley Williams, Harry Gallon, and Rachel Connor.

First up, Rachel Connor talks about teaching creative writing, and the literature scene in the North. Rachel is the author of Sisterwives from Crocus Books, and her short story How to Curate a Life was the winning story in Storgy’s Exit Earth anthology. She teaches at Leeds Beckett University.

Next, I talk to Eley Williams and Harry Gallon at the British Library. We talk about the importance of patron saints and champions of literature, editing and structure, and the importance of reading. Eley Williams is the author of the short story collection Attrib, which won The Republic of Consciousness Prize, shortlisted for the James Tait Black prize, and longlisted for the Dylan Thomas and Edge Hill prizes. Harry Gallon is the author of two novels from Dead Ink Books. His first novel, The Shapes of Dogs’ Eyes was shortlisted in the Saboteur Awards, and longlisted for The Guardian’s Not the Booker Prize.

All three authors read brand new short stories based on prompts set by other guests.

Entertaining and exciting to hear new content

Great podcast with a witty host, I love listening to the interviews with writers and artists and learning about their creation process. My favourite part is hearing the new story/poem/music they've created just for the podcast. Funny, entertaining and informative!

Great literary podcast

This podcast is full of great conversations between really eclectic writers and a host who is so in love with words.

It's always a pleasure and it's one of the few podcasts I know I'll listen to every episode of regardless of the guest.
