A scientific career decision can be your "Ikigai"

A scientific career decision can be your "Ikigai"

The book Ikigai tells us the advantages of having an 'ikigai' in our life. It gives us a reason to get up in the morning, enjoying our work, loving what we do, giving meaning to our existence. Therefore, our 'ikigai' is an important ingredient for a healthy, happy, satisfying life and aging.

Ikigai is a living fact, for people living in Okinawa, the island in Japan, it is a way of life. And as a result of that, they have the most cente-na-rians (means people living more than 100 years) in the world.

It left me thinking that there are so many similarities between career guidance and ikigai because ikigai compel us to think about few important life questions… like What we are good at? What we love? What the world needs, which we can offer? And What we can be paid for?

These four questions, if self-reflected deeper can give us the life mission, passion, profession, and vocation. We can lead a life with great enthusiasm, passion, motivation, satisfaction, happiness, and purpose. With that kind of mindset, we can make lots of difference at our workplace and make a difference to people’s life. And once that happens, worldly materialistic pleasures, money, recognition would certainly then follow.

Would you like to Grow at 33% annually - Be a Statistician

Would you like to Grow at 33% annually - Be a Statistician

Statistics is indispensable in this modern age. Governments and organizations around the world are constantly implementing statistics to improve economic developments. Wages, pricing of items, time series analysis, demand analysis, production control, business development, growth & analysis. Everything is dependent on statistics.

Therefore, the demand for mathematicians and statisticians is very high currently. It is projected to grow 33 percent from 2018 to 2026 much faster than the average for all occupations (as per the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports). Businesses will need these workers to analyze the increasing volume of digital and electronic data.
