#32 The Charlie Wakefield Episode The Grassroots Guy Podcast

    • Health & Fitness

On this weeks Episode of the Grassroots Guy Podcast I was delighted to bring on ex Chelsea Academy prospect, UEFA youth league winner, Coventry City FC, Wealdstone and Bromley midfielder and current player for Yeovil Town Football Club Charlie Wakefield.

The episode was a pleasure to host, we spoke about Charlies experiences as a youth player at Brighton and Chelsea and Charlies battles through major trauma and injury with his Hamstring injuries and how he dealt with a collapsed lung.

We speak about Charlies rise back through the ranks of the football pyramid where he has since gone from being a part time to a full time footballer at Yeovil again.  As well as that Charlie has recently made a documentary on mental health within football and especially on the release of academy players.  For a 23 year old Charlie speaks with such experience and with an amazingly level head.

I'm sure Charlie has a great future ahead of him and wish him well for the season and beyond!

If you do like and enjoy the episode make sure you share, like and subscribe on whatever platform you're listening too.  If you are listening on Apple Podcasts please leave a 5 star review as it helps the podcast out a long way!
