Brilliant podcast on cultural aspects of football
Very knowledgeable presenters and guests and superb chat around football. Latest episode discussing the fact that footballers are young men / kids with lives and feelings too is a real doozy! Listen to it and you won’t be disappointed.
Shame what’s happened
Like all BBC output, the podcast has turned into a medium for pushing BBC agendas. It used to be interesting, funny and informative across a range of topics. Gradually over the past two or three years it has gravitated towards promoting women’s football endlessly and Tim’s usual BBCesque Left wing politics which is somehow deemed acceptable to publicise in a way that a ‘right of centre’ opinion never would. It’s just dull and predictable now which is s shame because Dotun is a gem and an absolutely excellent presenter. The same has happened to the 5 live boxing podcast, shovelling women’s sport down our throats whilst the public interest isn’t there. Any opinions to the contrary will be shouted down and derided as not being progressive or being misogynistic. Its such puerile social commentary and it becomes nauseating enough that it turns people off.
