    1. Lighthouse

In November 2021 investigative journalist Catrin Nye got a call from Dawn. She said her boyfriend Jeff was trying to leave a cult. But this cult was also a life coaching company.
Dawn said Jeff had handed over more than £100,000 to them and wasted years of his life. And what Dawn is really worried about is that the group are still active; they’re recruiting new members and she needs to raise the alarm. Jeff had simply signed up for a life coach, so how did it all go so wrong for him?

    3. The Life Coach

    3. The Life Coach

Catrin is quite cynical about the concept of life coaching. She’s now spent months speaking with people who signed up to it and ended up in a cult. So, she has a session with one of Ireland’s most in-demand coaches to see if he can change her mind.
Then Catrin meets Anthony, who found Lighthouse during a very dark time in his life. She’s shocked by what she hears about his mentor’s approach to Anthony’s mental health issues.

Brilliant

This was a well researched, thought provoking and balanced podcast. I was gripped the entire time and could not believe what I was hearing. Excellent investigative journalism at its best.

Never goes away

People like Paul never go away. He will recreate himself and it will take another 15years before anyone can shut him down again! He will go and hide in a country that won’t have the same checks.
He has perfected the art of domination, bullying and mind control. Unfortunate for those he will ensnare.
Kudos to those that left and I am very happy that their families got them back.

Aftercare

Hopefully this chap has had some de programming help. I’m so sorry that he’s been through that. Must get counselling as these people come back and reinvent themselves. He’s still under their spell you can hear he is in shock and very vunerable - listen

This Lighthouse things conform to the model of a Cult. Like Scientology they record everything / keeping him busy and fatigued to stop rational thoughts / his job? Isolating him from others and ramping up dependence on the group. Constant asking for money and selling house to support the group - this is classic behaviour
Beyond scary
