Adventure Boys: Turn To Page 11 - Escape!

Adventure Boys: Turn To Page 11 - Escape!

Having lost control of their lives, Adventure Boys and self-proclaimed idiots, Conor & Oisín, attempt to comfort themselves by reading children books and choosing their own adventure.

The boys have chosen their next adventure and Conor will be reading to not only Oisín, but also the first honorary Adventure Boy - special guest Vincent Sheridan! This week Vinnie and Oisín will be desperately trying to ‘Escape!’

This time the Boys find themselves in a post- apocalyptic totalitarian state named after a popular nacho. The Boys must escape this oppressive state and return to the beacon of civilisation: Denver.

In order to escape, they employ the help of the daring resistance leader Mimla, who is completely irrelevant, her bodyguard Matt, who will not shut up, and the hacker man known only as Haven.

Along the way the Boys learn so much about the components and statistics associated with various vehicles. It’s really got stats. I mean strap yourselves in cause this bad boy’s got stats for days. No dimension is left unmeasured! Unfortunately there is a price to be paid in satisfying such a thirst for technical knowledge. Many other questions are left unanswered. Questions like:

Why is the entire plot dependent on clouds?

What’s the deal with everyone moving in spirals?

    Why is Matt so dodgy?

Why is The Phantom Menace the key to humanities survival?

Why did a fully grown adult man turn into a pile of suitcases?

There’s only one way to find out:

    Turn To Page 11!

Adventure Boys: Turn To Page 10 - The Secret of the Ninja!

Adventure Boys: Turn To Page 10 - The Secret of the Ninja!

Having lost control of their lives, Adventure Boys and self-proclaimed idiots, Conor & Oisín, attempt to comfort themselves by reading children books and choosing their own adventure.

The boys have chosen their next adventure and Oisín will be reading to Conor who’s investigating the Secret of the Ninja!

This time the Boys find themselves in modern Japan, before swiftly traveling back in time to feudal Japan in order to fight the weather. Or something like that.

The Boys absolutely tear through this story about the nice boy who learnt about Akido, and other Japanese nouns, and along the way meet a nice girl who is named after the rough, open, part of the sea where navigation is difficult. They learn so so many new and unnecessary Japanese words, become deeply confused about the plot of the book, accomplish nothing and find no answers, only more questions. Questions like:

Why does the Author have a thing for fists?

What is the difference between meditation, hypnotism and trace?

Why did we steal a sword we already own?

The most important question of all though, why haven’t we committed Seppuku yet?

Adventure Boys: Turn To Page 9 - Terror on the Titanic

Adventure Boys: Turn To Page 9 - Terror on the Titanic

Having lost control of their lives, Adventure Boys and self-proclaimed idiots, Conor & Oisín, attempt to comfort themselves by reading children books and choosing their own adventure.

The boys have chosen their next adventure and Conor will be reading to Oisín who finds himself amidst the Terror on the Titanic!

This time the Boys are stuck aboard the worlds most famous death sentence, The Titanic. In this episode the Boys inhabit the body of a pianist with a thirst for gold and a sexual attraction to boats.

While the boys make peace with their inevitable drowning in the cold Atlantic sea they meet a lovely bunch of walking corpses. There’s the gaunt and inexplicably Australian man, Inspector gadget, Chekov’s smoking manservant, a woman addicted to ketamine and another inexplicable Australian man! What a crew for such a fine and deadly vessel. Along the way the Boys learn so much, but there are still so many questions left to answer:

Who is the mysterious “Chief Baker”?

    Where, exactly, is “up forward”?

To what depths will a man sink in order to steal gold, which he already owns, on a ship that is itself sinking?

The most important question of all though, is this the worst premise for a book yet?
