004 - Why does God let me struggle?

004 - Why does God let me struggle?

In episode 4 Ire gives three reasons why God feels distant and allows us to struggle in our everyday lives.

In order to come to a conclusion, we look at Peter walking on water as well as the stories of Samson and Daniel in the bible, three scenarios where it seemed as if God had left humans to our own individual devices instead of helping us.

Question to ponder: How distant do I feel from God?

#AfterGodsOwnPod: 002 - How would you sum God up in just three words?

In episode 2 Ire describes what God's heart looks like to him in just 3 words!

We look at how both Abraham and Moses bargained with God and changed God's original plan/course of action which shows God is actually a pretty reasonable guy who cares about our view points on things. We also look at the story of the Prodigal Son as a way to further examine God's heart and character.

#AfterGodsOwnPod: 001 - Are you after God's presence or presents?

#AfterGodsOwnPod: 001 - Are you after God's presence or presents?

In episode 1 Ire talks about what it means to be after God's own heart.

We do a study of King David in the bible and we look at what it was about him which made God say he is a man after his own heart. We can use these attributes of David in our own lives as a check to see whether we truly are after God or not and then make the necessary adjustments required.

Question to ponder: are you after God's presence (getting to know him for him) or his presents (what you can get from him)?
