WE NEED YOU FOR FAMILY CONSTELLATIONS!

Join us Sunday 21 July for our special workshop, its life changing. Book: https://www.thesoberclub.com/family-constellations/

Janey's guest is Alex Clapp, who has owned multiple businesses in the North West including his flagship firm, County Cost Consultant for 23 years.

Earlier this year, Alex co-founded Claritee, a corporate wellness company comprising no alcohol corporate events, bespoke corporate training and the recent establishment of a CIO department.

Claritee was born from Alex’s struggle with addiction as a result of a deteriorating eye condition that developed in
2015. With no confirmed diagnosis, Alex resorted to alcohol to cope with his mental health, covering up to family, friends and peers about his affliction. Thankfully, after seeking help, Alex attended multiple rehabilitation centres and has been sober for 20 months.

Through his own plight, Alex endeavoured to help others in a similar situation; individuals in the corporate sphere who may be struggling to admit vulnerabilities. Claritee’s mission is to provide services which encourage individuals to prioritise their wellbeing and instill practices to maintain positive mindsets.

    Navigating Sobriety: Setting Healthy Boundaries

    1. Communicate Clearly and Confidently

Let your friends and family know about your commitment to sobriety. Be direct and clear about your boundaries. For example, you can say, “I’m not drinking anymore, so I’d appreciate it if we could avoid activities centered around alcohol.” Setting these expectations upfront can help prevent awkward situations and ensure everyone is on the same page.

    2. Have an Exit Strategy

Sometimes, despite our best efforts, we find ourselves in environments that challenge our boundaries. Plan an exit strategy in advance. This could be driving your own car to social events so you can leave when you need to, or having a trusted friend who can help you out of uncomfortable situations. Knowing you have a way out can reduce anxiety and help you stay firm in your sobriety.

Setting boundaries isn’t about isolating yourself; it’s about creating a supportive environment where you can thrive

Absolute favourite podcast

I have been sober now for 5 1/2 weeks and have been seeking out as much inspiration as possible to keep me going. I’ve been sober twice in the past but this time feels different thanks to podcasts like this. Janey Lee Grace is so easy to listen to, her interviews are always inspirational and her message is clear, Life is better when we don’t drink!
I look forward to every Friday when the new podcast is released.

Trying to be wine free!

What a fabulous lady sharing her experiences each week in a podcast. I decided last week (May 2024) to stop drinking and I’ve been listening to Janey’s podcasts all week whilst out walking.

What a total inspiration, not only from Janey’s own experiences but her guests too. I’ve gone right back to beginning of your podcasts Janey and it’s where I would recommend newbies to go.

Thank you for sharing your story in this podcast as it is a fantastic tool. Without it and all of the other inspiring folk, who’ve quit the booze or just changed their mindset, I thank you all so very very much from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you

Really great, interesting and informative podcast. Enjoy listening to this every week. Thank you so much Janey.
