The human perspective
Really interesting podcast following the story of Anthony - a guy arrested for a crime he says he didn’t commit. Really well narrated, great production, and you get wrapped up in the emotions of both the subject of the series and the narrators. I’d love to hear another series from this show!!
Thoughtfu and riveting - a must-listen.
Alibi is a thoughtful examination of the people and events that surround a convicted murderer. Is his conviction a miscarriage of justice or is he spinning a story? Each episode delves deeper into the details of the case and unearths new secrets. But there's light down there in the dark.
The show is riveting and often stranger than fiction. It is rooted in a particularly bloody moment in South Africa's recent history and shows how those repercussions spread out into the future. A must-listen.
Riveting
What is really intriguing about Alibi – what drags you in and keeps you listening is that it isn’t a straightforward case. You assume, when someone protests their innocence, that you will listen to the evidence and say: yes, he did it, or no, he didn’t. With Alibi, nothing is quite so clear-cut. One week I'm rooting for DeFries and the next I'm convinced he's guilty. Compelling listening, can't wait for next week and for the conclusion.
