    Known simply as Omar, has been one of the UK’s most celebrated British musicians for many years.  He has nine albums to his credit, tours all around the world and an accumulated list of collaborators and supporters to die for – amongst them Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Common, Carleen Anderson, D’Angelo, Soul II Soul’s, Angie Stone, Courtney Pine, Kele LeRoc, and more. I spent my teenage years being highly influenced by this man's music, so to find myself interviewing him has really been a monumental thing for me.     NOSTALGIA with LUCINDA Part 2

    NOSTALGIA with LUCINDA Part 1

    This podcast was an absolute joy for me to do! It has been a long time coming, and in my mind I have been planning it for nearly a decade. It is an ode my dearest Nan, Muriel and also to my Father -  my Nan used to walk around the house singing Peggy Lee and such and my Dad was a huge fan of Big Band.  The podcast will take you through my favourite singers, bands and songs from the 1930s through to the 1950s. It took quite a great deal of digging, but was well worth it! I hope you enjoy this in the FIRST series of NOSTAGIA PODCASTS. I had to include this lovely message I got from Michael Masterton: "Monica and I listened to your podcast and thoroughly enjoyed it. When I was in my early to mid teens (1954/1958) I found a great love for big band music and then modern jazz.I recognised many of the artists you featured and it bought back lots of memories. As a matter of interest I still have quite a lot of vynyl in my loft of Miles Davies , John Coltrane and other Jazz musicians.     Interview with Aston from THE FREESTYLERS/BLAPPS POSSE

    After an 18 year career the Freestylers have covered a full 360 degrees in the Bass Music genre,  played all the biggest festivals, the most talked about Nightclubs around the World and even the quintessentially British music show, Top Of The Pops.  This interview was so much fun  - as you will hear us giggling a lot, and  a real insight to the UK music scene in the late eighties, early nineties.
