3: The Art Perfumes formerly known as Niche

In the third episode of The Basenotes Podcast our panel discuss the idea of “niche” in perfumery – can we define what is, and what isn’t niche? We also smell the Bacon Candle mentioned in Ep. 1, talk about Frazzles (again), and whether Callum would use it as a ‘bedroom candle’. Plus The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

2: Sad and fleeting, but beautiful

In the second Basenotes podcast, our panel discuss the idea of sending smells digitally, and the uses and problems that may arise. Would the ability to send a smell be useful? If a scent can be recorded digitally, and resniffed at will, would it lose some of its beauty?

Nukapai ,

Like sitting in a pub with fragrance nerds

Exploring one's sense of smell has become a legitimate hobby for a growing number of people. This is a great way to get in on the social aspect of why it's a fun thing to do with likeminded mates. The sound quality is a little bit poor but persevere past the first few seconds and you'll get engrossed in the chatter. This is not purely about sniffing perfumes and waxing lyrical about them (though that features, too). Bacon candles, lucid dreaming, phantosmia and Keeping Up Appearances make an appearance as well (pardon the pun).
