Working class

Why is it that whenever i hear someone talking about being working class theyre always northern? Is everyone in the south middle or upper class?
Also why does the presenter always sound like shes on the verge of either laughing (when nothing funny is happening) or coughing?
Good podcast

Northern Voices

How lovely to hear Benjamin Myers on Open Book and to hear him talking about the North as an inspirational place to write about.

A Good Read - the best podcast for readers

A Good Read is great because the guests (and Harriet of course!) pick books which you would not otherwise have thought of and discuss them. They aren’t always the newest books which is ideal as a change to the usual publicity train on new releases. The guests are a nice mix of people and Harriet makes interesting comments - quite often you will be thinking something someone has said is a bit odd and Harriet just goes straight in and says it. Honest and thought provoking commentary on some classic and unusual reads - what’s not to love!
