Career Change Allies: Amanda Newman - supporting career changers and women in Technology

This episode is a little different as my guest, Amanda Newman, is not a career changer. She is however the founder of the incredibly successful and supportive free Facebook community The Career Mum , a working parent of four children (including 6-year-old twins!) and has carved a career in the male dominant industry of Technology. In this episode, Amanda not only offers a huge amount of advice, wisdom, hindsight and vulnerability, but she also shares her thoughts on how to carve a career change - particularly into Technology. Amanda shares how she has navigated career shifts, what she has found most helpful in developing her career as well as insight as to when she has paused to reflect - such as at points when her family has grown and when being faced with breast cancer.  If you are looking for inspiration, and tangible advice - particularly around a career shift into tech, this episode is for you. Having worked in Shell, Microsoft, IBM and Accenture, Amanda knows exactly what it takes and means to find mentors, sponsors and all kinds of support to help your career journey as a working mother.   If you are not already in Amanda's amazing Facebook group, I really encourage you to join today! Career Changer: Rebekah Clark - from Media, Marketing and Comms to Children's wellbeing platform

If it feels like 'on paper' you should be happy in your career, but you're not, this episode is for you. Career Changers: Emily & Paul Hughes - from Teaching to supporting PARENTS through their childrens' GCSEs

In this episode I chat to Paul & Emily Hughes - husband and wife who together run the Parent Guide to Education, a membership programme that coaches parents going through GCSE and Post 16 exams with their teens. This episode not only demonstrates how work can drastically impact mental health but also shows that change IS possible - even when both partners make changes!   the Parent Guide to Education has been an evolution, starting out as educational poster creation, to now fully supporting parents to go from worried and frustrated that they don't know how to help their child during their education, to confident they can handle anything exams throw at them!
