Chapter Approved is a biweekly half-hour Warhammer 40K podcast for average gamers.
We aim to prove that casual gaming is anything but, as we explore topics like gaming with your friends in their homes, narrative gaming instead of competitive, painting tips for everyday folks, and the occasional highlight of a really special army or project you might not have seen around.
This is a show for the beer-and-pretzels crowd. No deathstars. Just average folks enjoying the Warhammer 40K hobby for what it is.

27 – Hosting game night
Part 2 of a 3-part series about gaming at home.
I’ve found certain types of gamers tend to play more at their own homes, or their friends’ places: narrative gamers, the #funhammer beer-and-pretzels crowd, tight-knit gaming groups of close friends, women and people of color that might not feel comfortable at shops, etc. I rarely hear any mention of the special circumstances and situations that this type of gaming gives rise to, so I set out to record a few episodes to explore the topic.
In this, the second part, I lay out a few things to think about before you host your next game night. Some of it’s obvious, but some is not. Take a listen and let me know what you think in the comments below.

26 – Wrath & Glory RPG interview: Part 2 of 2
Interview with Wendelyn and Kaiser about 40K Roleplay.
I’m super excited to bring you all this interview with my two guests about the upcoming game — Warhammer 40K Roleplay: Wrath & Glory. Wendelyn is one of the rules writers, and Kaiser illustrated the ‘how-to-play’ comic you may have seen online. Both have play tested the game, and we cover topics surrounding the background, some rules mechanics that foster player interaction, and more. I have another hour coming after this one, so strap in and get ready to take notes.

24 – The Warhammer 40K hobby has a diversity problem
A Rainbow Warriors round-table discussion.
This is a special episode, outside of our normal format. The topic of gender diversity and inclusion has come up again this past week, and I decided to bring a couple friends onto the show to talk about it. We also talk a lot about race since there are so many parallels. I hope you’ll find this interesting, and if you don’t care for the topic or find it too political, feel free to tune in next week when we’re back to our series on gaming at home.

Part 1 of a 3-part series about gaming at home.
This one covers what to prepare for taking with you, and why it’s important to plan ahead.

22 – Interview with Cadian Shock: Part 2 of 2
Part 2 of my conversation with Cadian Shock about hobby life.
Now that we covered some of Jake’s background and the web apps he creates, we shift the conversation to some of his thoughts about 8th edition and the state of the hobby these days. He’s a more competitive player than myself by a mile, but still falls into the category of a narrative gamer.

Thanks for a great listen!
Tibbs what have you done to me?!? I thought I had left the plastic crack a long while back but here I am all jittery again over the little people!
Seriously though, I have just inhaled the first 18 podcasts and I love your easy style and the fascinating interviews!

Good going
Great to hear considered opinions, and coverage for gamers who just want to have fun not find loop holes.
Great podcast
I have really enjoyed listening to this. The format is very accessible as they are quite short, but do not have poor content as a result. Tibbs has a great outlook on the hobby (because this is more of a narrative/hobby podcast) which I relate to very much. Definitely worth a listen.
