“We Have to Be a Better Defensive Team.” Yzerman & Lalonde speak to success & failure
Steve Yzerman and Derek Lalonde spoke on Friday about the conclusion of the NHL season, and what worked and what didn't for during the season. Lalonde specifically sung the praises of Dylan Larkin, who did so much while battling through adversity, while also praising the goaltending's ability to raise the entire team. Yzerman spoke about Seider and Kane, as well as praised and criticized coaching.

"I want to be a Red Wing." Optimism and frustration show during end-of-season availability
A large chunk of Detroit Red Wings spoke to the media Thursday as the season comes to an end. The over-arching theme was definitely the frustration at falling just short, but the optimism the team has looking froward. Moritz Seider, David Perron and Lucas Raymond all made it clear that they love it here and want to be here. Patrick Kane on the other hand was much more ambiguous about his return.

The Detroit Red Wings soared to new heights this season with 91 points and break out years from Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider. But, they still fell short of the playoffs due to self-inflicted wounds. Was the season a success? Shai Buium, a '21 2nd round pick, signed an ELC and is headed to GR.
