A mental health psychology podcast based on one woman's mental breakdown story of suicide and depression. Each week, this podcast examines a different mental illness through the psychological perspective of a true story patient experience. I talk about psychiatric patients, why they ended up on a ward and how they helped me get off of it. It's a podcast that seeks to dispel myths, stigma and misconceptions surrounding mental health through my own experiences as a patient.

We can all take something from this ....
This is the first podcast I’ve ever listened to - I’m always a bit late to the party....
Having been signed off work with anxiety and depression I’ve been exploring several resources to help me on my journey to recovery. Discovering this wonderful podcast has been amazing.
Although these stories stem from what was an extremely distressing situation, what Ellie has done here is to convey the side of mental illness that a lot of us don’t see. She does it with honesty, articulation and humour. Some of the things I’ve heard on here have had me explosively laughing, garnering questioning looks from fellow train passengers on several occasions.
Please give it a listen. Absolutely fantastic and we can all relate to it in parts.
Bedtime listening
Thoroughly enjoyed listening to your account of being in a psychiatric ward. I work on a PICU ward and I can totally relate to your honest and on point description of life on a psychiatric ward. I have recommended your podcast to my work colleagues. Can’t wait for part 2.
ESSENTIAL LISTENING
The narrative this podcast provides on mental health is executed perfectly. Hilarious, touching and desperately sad, all beautifully intertwined to portray a very raw and real insight into the world of mental health, it’s patients and it’s treatment facilities (in the UK).
