    18 - Memorial

    18 - Memorial

It took just two years and four months for the Palace to be re-opened following a full re-build on the site of the exisiting hostel. There was considerable consultation with the community and the victims' families before agreeing on what would be a stunning memorial to the Palace 15. But getting to that highly emotional unveiling was far more complex than Council had first imagined.

Brilliant listen

But heartbreaking. On episode 5, want to listen but don’t if you see what I mean. Put together really well, one of the most memorable podcasts I’ve listed to and I’ve listened to 100’s.
Can’t imagine surviving something so horrendous.
These stories need to be told though. Heartbreaking for victims families and loved ones ❤️

Gripping and Heartbreaking

Really good podcast (I always feel weird saying that when it’s about such horrible events) However, this podcast is so much more than that. It’s very victim oriented, many of the individuals there that night give their first hand accounts whilst remaining sensitive to the families involved. It is also a story about how a small town pulled together in the face of adversity, shining a light on the good as well as the abhorrent . What happened was absolutely heartbreaking. Young people, enjoying and experiencing life when utter evil struck. I hope this man never gets out. Time says parole may be soon? I’m on episode 17 so far. I really hope that doesn’t happen. He deserves to rot!!
Well done to the team/journalist behind the podcast. Utterly compelling.
