Yogi Powerlifter, Laure Lecompte, Chats Ableism

Yogi Powerlifter, Laure Lecompte, Chats Ableism

Our longtime zen friend, Laurie LeCompte joins us for a remote chat about ableism and how this stigma is effecting the world of yoga.  Ableism is discrimination and social prejudice against people with disabilities or those who are perceived to be less able. Many think of yoga as a very accepting practice, but is it?  Laurie helps us dissect why we need to address the focus on extreme postures in practice and what that means for those entering the world of yoga.  We also get an update on how Laurie's yoga studio is handling the pandemic and what the future has in store for her and Yoga Baum.

We F*cked Up and Operating at a Solid 30%

We F*cked Up and Operating at a Solid 30%

We never knew how much our zen community meant to us until one of our friends twas impacted enough by our words to tell us how we were wrong.  And man, was our friend correct.  Our first episode back after a long hiatus starts off with a HUGE apology to our zen community for completely downplaying the impact of the "Karen culture" in our society.  It was hurtful and narrow-minded.  We vow to do better.
We also discuss our struggle with Covid and how the effects can still be felt weeks prior.  We also address the weird phenomenon that is the gender reveal and how it took a massive fire in California to cancel this society obsession.
As we slowly work to bring CZL back to life, we want you to know that we may sound a little different.  Thats because we are.  2020 has brought a new lens to our podcast and we are moving in a direction that best suites our current views.  We appreciate each of you for being here.  Don't worry we still have a little zen and a whole lotta crazy.

Ep: #117:The real deal behind the Karen culture; stop the penis noses; zen gal margarita madness

Ep: #117:The real deal behind the Karen culture; stop the penis noses; zen gal margarita madness

Really dont know how to approach this episode, but here we go. This is a CZL has been under massive mental reconstruction and we are taking some time to figure out our next move.  Until then, we wanted to drop in and highlight some of the Karens we have seen in our world and why this culture is all of the rage.  Frankly, we are here for it.  Why not call out some of the behavior that is uncalled for and a little over the top.  We also take the time to fill you in on zen kid quarantine drama, what we are binge watching, and the public's obsession with mask penis noes.  As if that wasn't enough, we fill you in on our epic margarita madness from a few weeks ago.  This epeisode is a great dose of CZL and a little catch up of all of the things we have been up to.  We hope you  are doing well and hanging in there.  We wil be back soon!
