52 - Challenges During the COVID-19 Pandemic | Orthodox at Work

52 - Challenges During the COVID-19 Pandemic | Orthodox at Work

We're introducing a special episode and series as part of the Dad Devotionals podcast called Orthodox at Work. Orthodox at Work provides an opportunity to discuss how to best live out our Orthodox Christian faith in the workplace and your business.

I will be doing a series of these episodes with Deacon Sean Reid, who was a guest in episode 45 of the podcast. He will be my co-host / main guest throughout this series which will be released on the last Monday of each month.

Sean is a Deacon in the Canadian Archdiocese of the Orthodox Church in America. He's also President & Head Coach @ Arrowhead Coaching and Facilitation Solutions. You will also recognize him from The Saint Emmelia Homeschool Podcast on Ancient Faith Radio. Learn more about Sean at https://www.arrowheadcoaching.ca/

Our first topic is Dealing with Work-Life Challenges During The COVID-19 Pandemic.

    Sean and I discussed:

    - Where we are right now in the workplace considering the pandemic.

    - How can we as men best care for our fellow co-workers as well as our families during all of this?

    - What about self-care? How does that factor in?

    - The Orthodox faith does present us with a rich history of scripture, tradition, and holy examples of how to live Orthodox at trying times like these. Do you have an example of a saint who might exemplify this?

    - Give us one resource where we can learn more about dealing with challenges with a deepened faith.

FYI -- Need leadership training? Consider this --> Heroic Leadership: How Heroes Rise Above Crisis Course: It’s usually $197 but I’m offering 30% off with promo code DADTIME.  Just go to https://DavidDomzalski.com/heroic-leadership.

51 - Lessons From the Saints with Strati Papageorgiou

51 - Lessons From the Saints with Strati Papageorgiou

If you're a fan of Trisagion Films, this one is for you. This week, Dave sits down with Strati Papageorgiou, the Founder, Director and Editor of Trisagion Films. Strati tells Dave how Trisagion started and how they pick the saints they cover. He also shares some insights on growing up with a father who was a trained theologian and priest in the Orthodox faith.

While not a father himself, you won't want to miss the lessons he shares for dads from the life of St. Anthony. All of that and more in episode #51 of Dad Devotionals!

Also, don't miss Orthodox@Work-- my new monthly podcast series with Sean Reid, an Orthodox deacon and business coach. It starts on next Monday -- June 29, 2020 -- and will run on the last Monday of each month. We will discuss how to live out Orthodoxy in the workplace and your business.

50 - Prayer vs. Anger with David O'Dell-Karagas

50 - Prayer vs. Anger with David O'Dell-Karagas

David O'Dell-Karagas joins Dave on the podcast to discuss his journey to Orthodoxy from Roman Catholicism. David tells Dave about his pilgrimage to Arizona where Elder Ephraim was located before he reposed (Memory Eternal)-- and this led to his desire to enroll in an Orthodox seminary.

You'll also learn how David uses his prayer life to combat the sins of anger and lack of patience. That, of course, is something a lot of us fathers must deal with. David gives us a glimpse into his family life as well-- he is a husband and father of 4 children after all.

Thanks again to the "Dads of Orthodoxy" Facebook group. It really is a great place to connect with other fathers in the Orthodox Christian faith and share our wins and losses as dads "fighting the good fight." Check it out at https://facebook.com/groups/dadsoforthodoxy.

49 - Orthodoxy Can't Be Quarantined with Andrew Angyal

49 - Orthodoxy Can't Be Quarantined with Andrew Angyal

Andrew Angyal is a man of many talents. He's a stay-at-home father and husband. Plus, he's a server and choir member at his church.

In the episode, he shares how he orchestrated his own impromptu online services with a few close Orthodox friends. We also hear about his journey from Catholicism to Orthodoxy-- and how he's keeping his young children engaged in services the best he can.

Of interest in the episode is our discussion about being Orthodox converts from Catholicism-- and not calling the Pope #1 any longer. That, and Andrew talks about how keeping his death at the forefront keeps him in check. Very insightful take there from our guest that you won't want to miss.
