Why should non-SEOs at a business give a damn about SEO when they are not SEOs? This is a complex question to solve because 'non-SEOs' - those that have the ability to impact the business's website's organic performance - are literally every single person that has a touch-point with the website.
The reality of marketing with the SEO channel is you MUST improve the internal operations - with a discipline that is still foreign to non-practitioners.
