Malcom is the Chairman and General Counsel of Gravitas International, Founder and CEO of Gravitas.Financial (Challenger Bank), and Managing Director of his own firm Malcolm Tan Chambers LLC, amongst other companies, Malcolm Tan is an established Singaporean lawyer-entrepreneur with extensive experience in the construction, telecommunications, engineering, retail, IT and financial industries. Trained and still practising as a lawyer, Malcolm is also skilled in litigation, corporate law, and mergers and acquisitions. He previously held legal counsel positions in both global and regional capacities across the Asia-Pacific region, MENA, and North America.
He published a book last year on “How to ICO/ITO – Legal and Regulatory Framework in Singapore” and has already, and is still advising over 80 companies who have already, or are intending to ICO/ITO in Singapore and around the world, with clients from the UK, Malta, Russia, Ukraine, China, Korea, Japan, Singapore, etc. Many clients are also in the midst of licence applications in Singapore for Payment Services Act licences, and/or other types of regulated licences such as Recognised Market Operators, Commodities, Precious Metals etc.
In the ICO, IEO, STO, Cryptocurrency and Blockchain space, Malcolm has done regulatory reviews and consulted with multiple governments, and is frequently a speaker and thought leader for DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) and ICO and Cryptocurrency regulations and law.
