Dirty Rotten Church Kids

I stumbled on this whilst trying to find a way to make sense of a faith I lost 30 years ago, but still mull over as the years go by. I wish these guys were there when I was deconstructing, as at times it was very lonely, but with much warmth, humour, honesty, vulnerability, a bit of swearing, music and cocktail recipes Josh and Adrian plus guests validate my experience and much of what I have thought and intuited over the years. This podcast is amazing and helps me understand so many of my experiences. It has got me through living back home with my charismatic parents, I listen to it every Sunday to drown out their zoom church service

I found DRCK through their memes on Instagram (would you believe it) and I’m so so glad I did. This is my gateway podcast into a whole world of fellow church kids who are grappling with the reality of a complicated world. I don’t feel so alone after listening to this podcast! Adrian & Josh introduce really great thinkers and writers, Christian and non-Christian, and they leave plenty of space for you to disagree with them and ask questions (which is so refreshing). Highly recommend if you’re finding yourself uncertain about the Church after years of living in it. (Also they make me laugh out loud at least once per episode.)

I’ve discovered this in the last few months and found it a goldmine! Funny, sometimes insane, but filled with experiences that can help us heal from our toxic experiences in church. Balanced too, at times. Sometimes just shines a light on the stuff we were forced to put up with. Would highly recommend.
