Awesome Alpha Foxtrot
As soon as I heard the catchy running cadence that the show opens with, I knew I was going to like this Podcast.
Actually, that’s not quite true. I knew I was going to like it as soon as I saw the Instagram page, which is where I originally found these guys. While I’ve never been in the military, I have a good friend in Navy Dive School right now, as well as many other friends who currently serve in other branches. So, in the knowledge that I like those dudes and the stories they have to tell, I thought there was a pretty good chance that these guys would be fairly entertaining.
And entertaining they are - albeit in a much more toned down, G Rated way, compared to my other military friends. To tell the truth, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I listened to episode one, but it’s fair to say that it hooked me straight away. The guys discuss current events, Navy life - and what to do after Navy life for those getting out - as well as their own personal lives that they use with good effect to frame their time in the military and to explain their world views.
Perhaps the best quality of the Podcast is the genuine nature of it all. These guys aren’t acting; they’re clearly just being themselves. There’s no team of professionals behind them, which makes it very gratifying and exciting to see/hear the production values improve with each episode. When they tell stories, there’s almost no ego or braggadocio involved, and they regularly discuss times when things went wrong and when they found times tough. (With that said, those were pretty extraordinary circumstances for average people - these dudes are legit).
All in all it’s a fantastic Podcast that is well worth a listen, as evidenced by the fact that they’re now number 32 in their category on iTunes, which is by no means a small achievement. You’ll laugh, you may cry, you’ll be surprised, you’ll almost definitely learn something, and you will definitely subscribe. This podcast is awesome Alpha Foxtrot.
A Drippity Hit!
I came across this new podcast on my Instagram feed and I was hooked after the first episode.
I'm a serving submariner and to hear these two "dit" on about submarine life and "civvy" life is a breath of fresh air.
5⭐️ keep it up shipmates!
