Community Couture with Aniela Fidler Wieruszewska

Community Couture with Aniela Fidler Wieruszewska

Ever wanted to make your own clothes? 🧶 Community Couture is a project that brings people together to take part in designing incredible one-of-a-kind pieces. Starting in lockdown Aniela Fidler Wieruszewska invited people to send in a picture of what life looked like to them. These stories turned into a jacket that took over 600 hours to make and is now rented to people all across the UK. Their latest project invites people to be part of the process by creating embroidered shapes that answer the question ‘what matters’.🧵
In the latest episode of Down To Earth we speak  to Aniela about experiments in sharing, how being involved in the creation of the clothes you wear might make you think differently about them and how to create a fashion that’s more about community.

Cycling for everyone

Great to hear how cycling can be made more accessible for all sections of society and the benefits this has on health, confidence and breaking taboos. Hopefully government will invest to make it safer and easier.
