Dr Jim Lemon - Part 2 People Soup

    • Mental Health

Season 3 Episode 35

P-Soupers - welcome to Part 2 of my chat with Dr Jim Lemon. Jim is the Head of the Medical Paediatric Psychology Services in NHS Dumfries and Galloway. He's been using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with children and young people who have long-term health conditions, and their families. This work has also extended beyond individuals and families to using ACT in multidisciplinary clinics, with teams and on hospital wards.

We cover a lot of ground in our chat. Jim charts the evolution of the adoption of the matrix and the prosocial approach to change within families and within and between teams and service in the NHS. To hear his illustrative examples and the way he describes the impact and growth of the approach is part of who he is as a human, generous and humble. When you listen I'm predicting that you'll feel the potential of the approach too. After listening to Jim you'll probably want to sign up for his workshop at the ACBS UK & ROI Conference in November.
