When asked about how FlyBy Guys managed to grow sustainably without external investors, CEO Stephen Sutton, explained, “That's something which I think is very important for the industry, knowing that you can survive, that you can pay salaries, that you can pay for your office and not really have to worry.”

In our latest interview, we learned more about Flyby Guys, primarily known for their large drone light shows, but have a more industrial-focused business model for aerial data capture.

While drone light shows require a lot of work to put together, Stephen said they’re a passion project and a source of satisfaction for the team. He added that the shows also have the additional benefit of increasing the public acceptance of drone technology in the communities where these shows take place.

Flyby Guys began hosting drone light shows in December 2020, and has since performed over 200 flights, with the number of drones deployed in each show reaching up to 1,500.
