Environment Network Pamphlet + Ways to Save the World The Young Fabians Podcast

    • Government

Now that the election is over, we turn our attention to… the climate emergency. But, before you switch off in despair and go drink mulled wine, we encourage you to listen to this engaging (and at times heated!) discussion that took place at Labour Conference in September.
The speakers, chaired by Mhairi, explained what Labour is doing on environmental policy locally, and what it aims to do nationally. This was in the context of presenting the Environment Network’s Pamphlet ‘Ways to Save the World’. It’s a collection of 14 chapters on various economic, political and social issues we need to tackle if we want to create a sustainable environment for the next generation.
You can read the pamphlet in full here
Speakers:
Philip Glanville, Mayor Hackney
David Elliott, Chief Executive, Trees for Cities
Leonie Cooper, London Assembly Member
Chris Saltmarsh, Labour for A Green New Deal

Chair: Mhairi Tordoff, Chair of the Young Fabians Environment Network

This episode was recorded on Monday 23rd September at Labour Conference in Brighton
