Family mediation in the UK

Today we are talking #familymediation. As a reminder mediation is a dispute resolution process which does not imply going through the judicial route, where a trained independent third party, a mediator, helps couples work out arrangements, work through disagreements, find solutions and hopefully reach an agreement. Our guest to talk us through family #Mediation in the UK is Sarah Manning a Partner at Hall Brown Family Law.

Sarah qualified as a solicitor in 2011, trained as a mediator shortly after qualifying in 2012 and now practises as both a solicitor and mediator specialising in both children and financial matters.

Sarah is also a trained hybrid and child inclusive mediator, Chair of the Family Mediation Council’s (FMC) committee for Family Mediation Week (“FMW”),
