My annual check up for me thinking about how harsh and unforgiving I have been toward my body - it's not fit enough, it's got too much weight on it, it's been chronically ill on and off. Then I made the connection- for all the criticism and loathing toward my body, it's gotten me through abuse and major injury, and now I need to show her kindness.
