In this message, Ethan Asplin looks at the relationship between sisters Martha and Mary in the New Testament. We too can have very different personalities to our brothers and sisters and yet we can still share the same faith. In Luke 10, Martha served Jesus, whilst Mary did what is better by sitting at the feet of Jesus. In John 11, after the death of their brother Lazarus, Martha goes to find Jesus, whereas Martha stays at home. Upon finding Jesus, Martha convinced her sister to come to Jesus with the words, “The teacher is here and he is asking for you” which are the very words that Jesus is speaking to you as He encourages you to respond to Him. Martha and Mary were different, but they both got distracted, Martha with serving and Mary was consumed with her grief and yet they both responded to Jesus.
