EP 159- Nancy---> Private Sector HR to NC Educator

EP 159- Nancy---> Private Sector HR to NC Educator

Is the grass really greener on the other side? Many teachers are filing for the exits to leave education but Nancy did the opposite.  Nancy spent  in the private many years sector in HR before moving into her role as a Career and Technology teacher in NC.

What are the pros and cons of each? Many teachers (myself) only know education...K-12 to college and then right into the classroom.

Only a few years away from retirement, Nancy is continuing to learn about personal finance and how to maximize her situation as a single income earning teacher.

EP 157-Dave and his Wife Discuss the book "Die With Zero"

EP 157-Dave and his Wife Discuss the book "Die With Zero"

Dave is a natural saver, Stephanie is a natural spender and BIG giver.  Together, they have been trying to make financial headway by living a very frugal and debt free lifestyle.   In December of 2019, their world was rocked as Stephanie was diagnosed with an aggressive and fast moving cancer diagnosis. Last summer, Stephanie's dad was in a life changing car accident that left him in the hospital for 5 months and is now having to learn how to walk and eat again.   How can you you save, invest AND try to make family memories before the kids leave the house?  In this episode, they discuss the thought provoking ideas of the top selling book "Die With Zero".

    ABOUT THE BOOK...

Imagine if by the time you died, you did everything you were told to. You worked hard, saved your money, and looked forward to financial freedom when you retired.

The only thing you wasted along the way was…your life.

Die with Zero presents a startling new and provocative philosophy as well as practical guide on how to get the most out of your money—and out of your life. It’s intended for those who place lifelong memorable experiences far ahead of simply making and accumulating money for one’s so-called Golden Years.

In short, Bill Perkins wants to rescue you from over-saving and under-living. Regardless of your age, Die with Zero will teach you Perkins’ plan for optimizing your life, stage by stage, so you’re fully engaged and enjoying what you’ve worked and saved for.
