So… I’ve spent over a decade working on side hustles and projects, hoping to finally find one that takes off so I can leave the constraints of the “Rat Race”, 9-5 grind. This podcast gives you the “behind the scenes” look at the sorts of things I have built over the years. Hopefully showing you the pitfalls of starting and working on a side hustle, so you can learn from my mistakes and launch your own successful side hustle (I'm still trying).
#18 - Pain, stress and lessons learned from a failed startup, 3 years in the making
What isn't often talked about when discussing peoples side hustles is what happens when it fails. When no one buys from you. When no one uses your service. When relationships breakdown and people walk away. In this episode I talk about my experience of walking away from a business I was involved in that ultimately didn't turn into that thing that let me become my own boss. What I did after I no longer was involved in the business and the 3 key takeaways that I hope you can learn from.

#16 - Sensible Backup - Fast track by value skewing someone else's product
You don't have to come up with "the next big thing" to have a successful side project. You just need to improve or do something slightly different that what other products or services are already doing. In this episode I discuss a Windows app I had built called Sensible Backup. It is the first side hustle where I actually looked at something I used a lot and really liked, but thought I could improve upon.

#14 - The dark art of outsourcing and hiring a VA
It can be a tough ask trying to launch a side project and finding paying customers. If, like me you are the builder, marketer, sales person and operations manager, it is a lot of plates to be constantly spinning. Sites like UpWork and Fiverr can be of help, as well as finding and hiring a Virtual Assistant (VA). However finding someone that delivers what you want and that you can work with on a regular basis can be a bit of a dark art. I've tried may times on many different side hustles to hire some help with varying degrees of success. In this episode I discuss my finding and give 3 "tips" that I try and use to try and find someone that I can work with.
#13 - How to sell and switch your brain off, if you are a Techie with Jarie Bolander

Productivity tips if you are trying to juggle multiple things at once. Finally discussing what other projects Jarie is currently involved with and actively working on.
Thanks to Jarie Bolander for being a guest on the podcast. It was an honour and a privilege.
